Registered Piano Technician current status with the Piano Technicians Guild.High School diploma or appropriate equivalent.5 years of recent work experience in the repair, servicing, tuning and preventative maintenance of acoustic pianos and digital keyboards preferred. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with the supervisor and other staff.Experience in working with harpsichords.Demonstrated ability to assess the condition and function of pianos.Knowledge of proper use and care of piano tuning and repair tools.Maintain collegial relationships and communication with administration, faculty, staff, and students.Perform and assist with specialized piano related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, Keyboard Instruments.Perform tasks related to Purchase Orders for new pianos and piano moving in Workday system.Supervise piano moving professionals engaged by the Frost School of Music.Move celesta, harpsichord and other keyboard instruments as needed.Maintain current inventory of all acoustic and digital pianos in Excel format.Maintain digital pianos in two keyboard labs.Regulation and voicing of pianos as needed.Vacuum pianos as needed and notify Supervisor of any problems with the piano.Perform repairs as needed, including new strings, action parts, cabinet and bench repairs.Perform tuning of pianos in faculty studios, classrooms, practice rooms and rehearsal halls.The Piano Technician / Piano Tuner maintains the pianos and keyboard instruments of the Frost School of Music (FSOM) under the direction of the Supervisor of Keyboard Instruments.
